Permitting - Fish/Wildlife Mitigation Plan

Fish/Wildlife Mitigation Plan

Consistent with our commitment to build an environmentally responsible project, Colorado Springs Utilities has been working with the Colorado Division of Wildlife (CDOW) for nearly a year to develop a Fish and Wildlife Mitigation Plan (FWMP) for the Southern Delivery System (SDS). The plan outlines projected impacts to fish and wildlife as a result of SDS operations and provides a blueprint to address those impacts.

On March 11, 2010, Colorado Springs Utilities received unanimous approval from the Colorado Wildlife Commission on the Fish and Wildlife Mitigation plan and the plan was unanimously approved for adoption by the Colorado Water Conservation Board on May 19, 2010. The FWMP was developed pursuant to provisions of state law and related requirements of the project’s Record of Decision issued by the Bureau of Reclamation.
